My favorite thing about the wealth divide is people eventually move on:
-lobster is only popular because it was once cheap.
-since it was cheap, people made it work for them
-when lots of people participate in something eventually someone figures out the best way to enjoy it
-now it’s a staple
-rich fucks try to pay to win
-rich people ruin the culture around the cheap thing
-people move on
When something becomes unattainable to the mass population, they stop participating in it. It’s a cycle time and time again.
Poor people make something fun or cool out of something that’s prevalent and cheap. Rich people see the popularity and swoop in to be cool, too. They then price the poor people out to the point that the mass public no longer finds it relatable or attainable, and that thing no longer is cool anymore and loses it value.
The same thing is about to happen with traditional currency. As the wealth divide gets greater and greater, eventually people qull stop participating in it as the effort outweighs the gains. They will move on to a new currency as the mass population has the power of decision.
Eventually people will just switch to a new currency. Right now, barter is coming back into style, and that’s a sign of the soon death of the traditional dollar. Bitcoin was a good sign already the dollar is about to die.
It’s honestly okay to have more than others, but it’s not okay to have so much, others suffer. That is a sign of mental health issues.
If your obsession to collect becomes hoarding, then it’s a detriment to others around you. That’s a mental health issue. Being so rich other people’s lives are affectively worse en mass? That’s hoarding, that’s ocd, and that’s a level of mental health unwellness that should have you committed.
